£15 million improvement plan

Lewisham Homes has an annual capital works programme and will spend £15 million this year making improvements to residents’ homes.

Published On: 31/07/2009

We’ll also spend £3 million on an external decorations programme. This budget covers works to communal areas, installing better security measures, fixing windows and roofing, structural repairs as well as upgrading kitchens and bathrooms.

Last year we spent £11 million on capital works, which included works to communal areas and individual properties.

In that time we carried out installation of new door entry systems and refurbishments; communal cold water tanks and ventilation systems; and lift renewals.

If you are a leaseholder, your lease requires you to pay a share of the cost of any structural, external or communal works that benefit your block or estate.

Interim managed properties

If your property is in one of the proposed stock transfers in Catford, Rushey Green, Lewisham Central, Crofton Park, Forest Hill, Perry Vale or Sydenham, you should note that your property is not included in the Lewisham Homes improvement works programme. This is because your improvement works will be carried out by London & Quadrant Housing Trust, subject to a successful stock transfer.
