repairs to flatsNew projects for 2010/11 include lift replacements at Grafton House, boiler replacements at Redfern Road, as well as insulation improvements, new door entry systems and external repairs and decorations in various locations.

Insulation Improvements

In March 2010 we began work to improve insulation on 26 estates across the borough. Full details of the areas are listed at www.lewishamhomes.org. uk, further homes will be included in this programme if funding allows.

Door Entry Systems

£240,000 has been allocated for the installation of new door entry systems. This is part of the improvement plan put together under the Residents’ Business Plan Programme which saw residents allocate £500,000 to projects they wanted to see happen. The location of the new systems is decided by a panel of residents.

External Repairs and Decorations

Residents on our Major Works Improvement Group decided our priority for next year is to ensure properties are wind and weather tight. About 3000 properties will be surveyed during the year and if works are needed they will be carried out in the period up to 2012.

Future Programme

We have developed a five year programme of works adopting principles worked out with residents on the Major Works Improvement Group. To find out when you can expect work to be carried out to your home, view the Major Works section of this site.
