Following an interview with Lewisham Homes’ officers and residents, landscaping contractors, Visible Changes and architects, Brodie Plant Goddard, were appointed to carry out the work on all nine schemes due for completion in March 2010.
Baizdon Road (pictured): Works are in progress to develop an old drying area into an open space for play.
Crossfields ball court: We are awaiting written approval from planning.
Commodore Court:
Communal garden improvement work is in progress, awaiting the arrival of garden furniture to complete the scheme.
Evelyn Green: The materials for the dog exercise area have been ordered. Works will begin once these have arrived.
Hillcrest Estate: The work is almost complete with only two things outstanding: 1) the installation of a handrail on the path, and 2) the planting which will happen towards the end of the contract.
Kirkdale Courtyards: This outdoor rest and relaxation space is now complete except for theplanters which will be delivered soon. Residents will have the opportunity to choose the plants that will go in the planters.
21-42 Mercator Road: The works to improve the existing courtyard are in progress.
Milton Court: The community garden is close to completion with just one more tree to be planted and the installation of garden furniture and materials.
Dacres Estate: childrens play area
Residents and their children on the Dacres Estate were involved with revamping the wall around the existing tarmac area, to give local children a fresher more challenging environment in which to play and explore.
Works to create a play area on the grass adjacent to the tarmac area will be starting shortly.
