Lift shut ins update
From September 2009 London Fire Brigade will no longer attend when people get shut in lifts, this means Lewisham Homes has been planning a procedure to prepare for this change.

Arrangements have been made for this to be reported to our current lift repairs contractor, via Lewisham Council’s 24 hour Linkline service.
There are 268 lifts in Lewisham estates, of those 210 have been installed with communication devices giving a direct voice connection to Linkline.
Lewisham Homes will install these devices in the remaining 58 lifts by March 2010. We will also install signage displaying the Linkline number and information about the procedure should a person be shut in.
