Investing in local people

We have now recruited three apprentices to Repairs Services in plumbing, carpentry and plastering. This is part of our plan to help deliver nationally recognised qualifications and support young people to learn new skills, and get hands-on experience.

We are working with employment specialists Working Links which give unemployed people advice and support on getting back to work. To date Working Links have given 70 one-on- one help sessions through surgeries at Holbeach Housing Office, and four have now secured permanent roles!

Lewisham Homes secured money from the government’s Future Jobs scheme to create six new jobs for residents in the borough this year, and has now confirmed extended threemonth contracts for three of these roles.
