The Residents’ Business Plan 2012 - 13
The Residents’ Business Plan 2012/13 (RBP) is off to a great start with over 500 responses from residents.
Published On: 04/10/2011
We collated all information from the initial survey, to identify residents’ key themes and priorities for improving housing services.
Following the survey, we held our Residents’ Business Plan event at the Civic Suite in Catford on 25 August 2011. Over 60 residents attended and met with Lewisham Homes staff to give feedback on our service and to discuss ideas for the future. On the day, residents voted for their top projects for the coming year. Some of the issues that residents felt most strongly about included:
- dealing with dangerous dogs;
- keeping residents informed on progress with the Major Works programme; and
- improving security on estates.
We will be working with residents over the next few months to prioritise which projects will be delivered,what these will look like and how these will be monitored.
Since our first RBP in 2009 we have made improvements all over the organisation, such as:
- Installing eight new door entry systems throughout the borough to improve the safety and security of our residents;
- extending the hours for our caretaking service (operated by the mobile caretaking team);
- introducing a Repairs Guide to help residents identify their repair which then in turn also helps our contact centre; and
- supporting Tenants and Residents’ Associations (TRAs) through developing their own websites.
