If you have a parent or caregiver who might struggle to understand some of our written materials because of sight impairments, low literacy levels or because English is not their first language, there is help available.

Community Education Lewisham offers classes for adults who want to learn English for everyday life and work. Classes include preparation for citizenship, are at all levels and can include reading, writing, pronunciation, conversation and exam preparation.
The service will assess your language level and aims, and recommend suitable courses.
There may be a charge to participate in these classes because the Learning and Skills Council has changed the fee structure and free classes are no longer guaranteed. You will be informed about payment of any fees in your guidance interview. For general enquiries contact:
