Tenant and Resident Association

The purpose of a Tenant and Resident Association (TRA) is to give residents in a particular geographic area the opportunity to work together with Lewisham Homes and the Council to improve the community and built environment in which they live. The TRA will be aware of local and service issues and Lewisham Homes will work with them to find solutions and introduce local initiatives.

TRAs receive funding from Lewisham Tenants Fund. This money can be spent on community projects to benefit all residents living on the estate. It can also be used for fun days, outings and other events.

Being part of a TRA is a great way to get involved with improving your community. Estates with active TRAs on them generally have an excellent reputation for getting things done for residents and for creating a strong sense of community cohesion. If there is not a TRA on your estate then why not set one up yourself?

Setting up a TRA is not a daunting a process as you might think and the Community Involvement Team are here to help you at every step of the way and will continue to support you once the TRA is set up. We will also provide you and the other members of the TRA full training to be come effective committee members and to ensure that you can run your meetings successfully.
