Lewisham Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) which went live on 22 January 2007. It is one of a number of investment vehicles set up by Lewisham Council to improve housing services and deliver the Decent Homes Standard (DHS).
We manage 12,000 social housing tenancies and 4,800 leasehold properties within the borough, as well as 7,000 additional properties which we are managing on an interim basis. This interim arrangement is in place while other proposed investment options are being decided by residents; for example, ballots for stock transfer.
We are a non-profit making company limited by guarantee and the Council is the sole shareholder. The Board of Management consists of 15 members including Councillors, tenants, leaseholders and independents.
We have applied for £145 million additional resources to deliver the DHS to the properties we manage by 2012. To access these resources we will need to achieve a two star rating from the Audit Commission in 2009/10. This document sets out how we plan to improve services to a two star standard by 2010, and to three star beyond that.
To deliver great housing services for thriving neighbourhoods.
