Our Board

The Board is made up of residents, Councillors and independent members of the community with relevant skills and experience. The Board make strategic decisions and receive updates on the work being carried out by the organisation. Meetings are open to the public and we welcome observers.

Julia Cotton

Julia Cotton - Chair - Leaseholder
Julia was appointed to the Board as a resident Director in January 2007 and is currently the Chair, she is a member of the Performance Panel and Ethics Committee.

Julia is an Assistant Headteacher/Inclusion Manager in a Greenwich Primary School, has lived in Lewisham for 9 years and has been involved in local housing issues for most of that time. Julia believes that residents should be involved in their housing and local environment and therefore tries to practice what she preaches. Julia is a grandmother of three and is therefore concerned about the future for the next generation.

David Gannicott

David Gannicott - Vice Chair -Independent
David was appointed to the Board as an independent member in January 2007 and is currently the Vice Chair of Board, Chair of the Performance Panel and member of the Remuneration Committee. He is the Group Director of London and Quadrant Housing Trust and has worked at executive level in the Housing Association sector for the last 25 years.

Terry James

Terry James - Independent
Terry a Chartered Engineer and Certified Project and Risk Manager is the Chair of the Audit Committee. He is the Managing Director of Buxton Development Partnership a company that assists public sector organisations improve their estate and management capabilities. He is also a visiting lecturer at the London South Bank University in Property Development, Construction and Maintenance, a school governor, a former Housing Association Chairman and, until 2002 a Director of Estates and Facilities in the NHS.

Nick Joslyn

Nick Joslyn - Independent
Nick is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Managing Director of a consultancy organisation that specialises in collaborative approaches to delivering housing construction and maintenance services, drawing residents, clients, contractors and the supply chain closer together for the benefit of the project.

Nick has worked in construction, maintenance and housing for over 20 years and has experience as a client, contractor and consultant within the sector. Nick also lives and operates his business from Lewisham. Nick was appointed to the Board in January 2007.

Marion Nisbert

Councillor Marion Nisbet
Councillor Marion Nisbet joined the Board in January 2007 and serves as the Councillor for Sydenham Ward. She is a member of Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee, Chair of Lewisham Council Health and Safety Committee, Member of Planning Committee (A).

Prior to her retirement Marion was the acting head of a secondary school and an education department manager at a London prison.

John Paschoud

Councillor John Paschoud
Councillor John Paschoud represents Perry Vale ward as a Lewisham Councillor and was first elected to the Council in 1994. He has been Chair of a Council Planning Committee for several years and has also served on committees dealing with sustainable development and the interests of children & young people.

He is a trustee of a local youth centre charitable project, a trustee of Lewisham Disability Coalition, and Chair of the governing body of Perrymount Primary School. He is professionally qualified as an engineer and works for a London university, managing research projects in IT and Internet technologies & standards.

John was appointed to the Lewisham Homes Board in January 2007 and is a member of the Ethics Committee.

Aidan Vaughan

Aidan Vaughan - Resident
Aidan has lived in Lewisham for over 15 years and was appointed in March 2011 as a resident board member. Aidan works primarily in the public sector providing senior advice on communications, issues management,community development and corporate affairs. He is a Lewisham school governor and member of the Lewisham Tenants Fund

Paul Bell

Councillor Paul Bell
Paul was elected as one of the three Labour Councillors for
Telegraph Hill on 6th May 2010. Paul currently works for UNISON and is an elected representative for GMB, as well as recently serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the Labour Research Department.

Paul studied Politics and Religious Studies at Lancaster
University and in the past has been a school governor and trustee
of a Citizen Advice Bureau.

Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith - Independent
Sarah has 20 years experience in social housing, she is currently a member of the Strategic Executive Team at Amicus Horizon. This role means that she regularly meets with residents to ensure that they are the heart of the plans for the future

Danielle Heath

Danielle Heath - Resident
Danielle is an active participant in her community and wants to bring her knowledge of diversity management and individual community development to the Board. She previously held the Chair of Milton Court TRA and successfully secured funding under the Resident Led Programme on her estate

Ainsley Forbes - Independent
Our newest Board Director, Ainsley was appointed to the Board in October 2011. A property developer with many years experience as Assistant Director of Social Services within a local authority, Ainsley recently retired from L&Q having worked as a group Board member since 1990 and is currently Chair of the Ujima Foundation. Ainsley was awarded an MBE for services to social housing in London in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2011.

Steve McGann - Resident
Steve was appointed to the Board as Resident Director in September 2011. An active member of the community in Honor Oak where he lives, Steve manages the Ackroyd Community Centre, Brockley Rise.

Having lived in social housing for two thirds of his life, Steve believes that he has a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges presented by the social housing market. That understanding has been enhanced by project management experience over the last decade in the public and voluntary sectors as well as previous commercial experience. In addition, Steve is a Member of the Institute of Learning and a qualified social enterprise advisor.
