The Board is made up of residents, Councillors and independent members of the community with relevant skills and experience.
The Board make strategic decisions and receive updates on the work being carried out by the organisation. Meetings are open to the public and we welcome observers.

Julia was appointed to the Board as a resident Director in January 2007 and is currently the Chair. Julia has lived in Lewisham for 13 years and has been involved in local housing issues for most of that time.
Julia believes that residents should be involved in their housing and local environment and therefore tries to practice what she preaches. Julia is a grandmother of three and is therefore concerned about the future for the next generation.

David was appointed to the Board as an Independent member in January 2007 and is currently the Vice Chair of the Board. He is currently undertaking senior consultative and interim roles and has worked at Executive level in the Housing sector for the last 25 years.
His experience is multi-faceted spanning the Private, Public and Voluntary sectors, David is also a Justice of the Peace. David is Chair of Lewisham Homes’ Remuneration Committee, Housing Matters Committee and a member of the Scrutiny Committee.

Terry, the Chair of our Audit Committee is a Chartered Engineer and Certified Project and Risk Manager. He holds an MBA in finance and procurement and an MSc in computing. He is the Managing Director of Buxton Development Partnership, property developers and general management consultants.
He is also a school governor, a former visiting lecturer at the London South Bank University, a Housing Association Chairman and a Director of Estates and Facilities in the NHS. His key competencies are leadership and his ability to deliver. Terry was appointed to the Board as an independent member in January 2007.

Nick Joslyn - Independent
Nick is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Managing Director of a consultancy organisation that specialises in collaborative approaches to delivering housing construction and maintenance services, drawing residents, clients, contractors and the supply chain closer together for the benefit of the project.
Nick has worked in construction, maintenance and housing for over 20 years and has experience as a client, contractor and consultant within the sector. Nick also lives and operates his business from Lewisham. Nick was appointed to the Board in January 2007.

Councillor Marion Nisbet
Cllr Marion Nisbet joined the Board in January 2007 and serves as the Councillor for Sydenham Ward. She is a member of Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee, Chair of Lewisham Council Health and Safety Committee, Member of Planning Committee (A).
Prior to her retirement Marion was the acting head of a secondary school and an education department manager at a London Prison. Marion is a member of the Audit Committee.

Councillor John Paschoud
Cllr John Paschoud represents Perry Vale ward as a Lewisham Councillor and was first elected to the Council in 1994. He has been Chair of a Council Planning Committee for several years and has also served on committees dealing with sustainable development and the interests of children and young people.
John is a trustee of a local youth centre charitable project, a trustee of Lewisham Disability Coalition, and Chair of the governing body of Perrymount Primary School.
He is professionally qualified as an engineer and works for a London university, managing research projects in IT and Internet technologies & standards. John was appointed to the Lewisham Homes Board in January 2007 and is a member of the Ethics Committee.

Councillor Paul Bell
Paul is a councillor board member. He currently works for the trade union - UNISON -managing business processes and was previously a project manager in IT, dealing with email and network systems.
As an elected councillor, Paul is also Chair of the one of the Planning Committees, school governor at Edmund Waller School and sits on the Housing Select Committee which scrutinises housing across the entire borough. He was also instrumental in undertaking a damp and mould policy review across the borough. Paul currently is a member of Unite and sits on the Lewisham Homes’ Audit Committee.

Sarah was appointed as an independent Director in September 2009. She has a wealth of experience in social housing spanning 20 years, and is currently a member of the Strategic Executive Team at AmicusHorizon. This role means that she regularly meets with residents to ensure that they are the heart of the plans for the future. Sarah is a member of Lewisham Homes’ Audit Committee.

A property developer with many years experience as Assistant Director of Social Services with a local authority, Ainsley recently retired from L&Q having worked as a group Board member since 1990 and is currently Chair of the Ujima Foundation.
Ainsley was awarded an MBE for services to social housing in London in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2011.

Steve was appointed to the Board as Resident Director in September 2011. An active member of the community in Honor Oak where he lives, Steve manages the Ackroyd Community Centre, Brockley Rise.
Having lived in social housing for two thirds of his life, Steve believes that he has a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges presented by the social housing market. That understanding has been enhanced by project management experience over the last decade in the public and voluntary sectors as well as previous commercial experience.
In addition, Steve is a Member of the Institute of Learning and a qualified social enterprise advisor.

Peter was appointed to the Board as a Resident Director in September 2012. Peter has worked as a Civil Servant for the Department for Business since 2008. His roles there have included being a Private Secretary in the Secretary of State’s office and an Adviser on Post Office policy.
Peter has lived in Deptford since early 2011.

Grace Padonou Addy
Grace was appointed to Board as a resident Board Director in September of 2012. As a strategic, HR & Change Specialist with 20 years management consulting and line experience leading & delivering transformation and cultural change programmes in the public and private sectors.
Areas of expertise include organisation development, employee engagement, performance management and improvement, high performance teams, business change programme planning and management.
Grace has successfully carried out assignments in local government, housing, information technology, health, education, financial services, Fortune 50 and utilities sectors in the UK, USA and Canada.

Ophelia Bobori was appointed to the Board in September 2013 and has been a Lewisham Homes resident since 1992. Ophelia has previously worked as welfare benefits advisor for several different charities that provide help and support to people who are homeless. She is currently studying to become a pharmacist.

Neil Poppmacher was appointed to the Board in September 2013 and has been a Lewisham Homes resident for 37 years. Now retired, Neil previously enjoyed a long career in scientific publishing. Neil has long been involved in his local Tenant and Resident Association and was previously chair of the Honor Oak Community Centre and a governor at Meadowgate special needs school.
