Lewisham Homes Caretakers maintain and clean communal areas on our estates. Our aim is for Lewisham residents to live in safe and clean surroundings. But we cannot improve the environment on our own – we rely on your cooperation. If you work with us, and use the range of environmental services on offer from the Council, we can make Lewisham a cleaner, greener place. You can read more about our caretaking service in the Estate Services leaflet.

What Lewisham Homes do:

Our Caretakers are responsible for making sure internal communal areas are well looked after and cleaned regularly.
Our Officers carry out regular walkabouts where estates are inspected and communal repairs are logged. You are welcome to attend, for scheduled inspections contact us.

What residents do:

Under your Tenancy Agreement you must keep all communal areas tidy and free from obstructions and rubbish.
Please use bin chutes and recycling bins in a respectful and proper manner.
Recycle where possible.
Keep the area surrounding your property clean and tidy.
Do not put rubbish out at night as this attracts rats, mice and foxes.
Do not force large items of rubbish or furniture down bin chutes as this will cause a blockage.
Do not fly tip.

What Lewisham Council do:
