Do you want to have a say in planning our major building repairs and deciding where money is spent? Read on to find out how.

We are offering residents the chance to be involved in planning which properties will receive the works, selecting contractors and monitoring progress.

Following a survey of our housing stock, Lewisham Homes will consult residents and develop a standard for the properties. Residents wishing to be involved in this process will be required to attend the first meeting in November 2008. This will cover:

• Briefing on the government’s Decent Homes standard
• Results of the survey showing the current condition of Lewisham Homes
  properties
• Outline of how the contractors will be appointed
• Discussion about how residents can be involved

The residents role is to ensure the quality of works meets our resident’s demands, and that contractors have good systems in place to keep residents updated.

Residents will attend up to four meetings over the following six months with the opportunity to continue their involvement when works start on site.We will provide residents with necessary training, as well as travel expenses and carer’s allowance if required.
