We know everyone is different which is why we are offering you a ‘menu’ of involvement opportunities. You choose which issues you are interested in and the ways you want to be involved. If you are interested in helping to shape the future of Lewisham Homes, fill out the form.

Conferences

Conferences could be a one or two day event on a particular subject.

Discussions via the internet

Online discussion forums are a great way to share your views with other residents and also Lewisham Homes staff.

Estate inspections

Estate inspections happen about every three months and take about two hours. Lewisham Homes staff from repairs, housing management and caretaking will attend so you can tell them about any problems.

Focus groups

A focus group is where residents are invited to talk to Lewisham Homes about a particular issue in a small discussion group over a couple of hours.

Become a resident inspector

Resident inspectors assess Lewisham Homes. A day’s training will be provided and each resident who signs up will be expected to do five 'inspections’. This could be sending an email or a letter, telephoning or visiting an office. You will be paid in vouchers for your time. Lewisham Homes has partnered with Homes For Islington (HFI), a high performing Arms Length Management Organisation, to help us improve our services. We are working with HFI to train resident inspectors and to implement the programme.

Provide comments via email

A quick and easy way for you to get your views heard.

Surveys

You could complete them by telephone, email, post, face to face or by text message.

Meetings

These could take place during the day or the evening, during the week or at weekends.

Tenant and Resident Association (TRA)

The purpose of TRAs is to give tenants and leaseholders the opportunity to work together with Lewisham Homes and the Council to improve the community and built environment in which they live. These groups are for residents of Lewisham Homes, and represent those living in the same area, usually an estate or several estates. Each will have its own identity and be shaped by the residents in that area. For instance some groups will be interested in all aspects of the community like facilities for younger and older people and developing safer communities. Other groups may focus only on housing services.

Area Panels

The area panels bring together representatives from Tenant and Residents Associations (TRAs), Tenant Management Organisations (TMOs) and sheltered schemes in the area. They provide a forum for residents to work with Lewisham Homes in shaping the services provided to the area.

Lewisham Homes Board

Residents can also become members of Lewisham Homes board, the strategic decision making group for the organisation. Its members are registered as directors at Companies House.

Training

There are many training opportunities available throughout the year, see our training programme for more details or fill out the form to register your interest.
