Our Caretaking Service
Lewisham Homes Caretakers maintain and clean communal areas (shared areas) on our estates. We aim to achieve high standards and our caretaking service is monitored by carrying out regular estate inspections.
Estate inspections
Lewisham Homes conducts regular estate inspections, which you are welcome to attend. We advertise up and coming estate inspections on posters that are put up around our estates. To find out about estate inspections in your area, please contact us for more information.
Bulky household waste removal service
Following consultation through the Residents Business Plan, we are running this new service - to collect large waste items from estates. The service is charged at £0.26 per week. For more information about this service please click here.
Window cleaning for shared areas
We consulted with residents who opted to continue this service in 2010 at a charge of 6p per week. This is only charged to blocks which receive the service. For more information click here.
Communal repairs
Communal repairs will be carried out in line with the repairs guarantee. To report a communal repair contact our Repair Service, freephone 0800 028 2 028 - press 1 (it may be cheaper to call 020 8613 4000 from a mobile) or repairs@lewishamhomes.org.uk.
Trapped in a lift?
If you cannot get out of a lift, an alarm has been fitted inside which can be activated to alert a rescue service. There are signs in place with instructions about this inside the lifts. Alternatively, call our emergency repairs line any time on freephone 0800 028 2 028 - press 1 (it may be cheaper to call 020 8613 4000 from a mobile).
Many lifts break down because of misuse or vandalism. Please help us by reporting offenders to the Caretaking team.
Parking
Lewisham Council is responsible for Controlled parking Zone (CPZ) permits. Residents living within one of the borough's CPZs can purchase a resident parking permit (£60 per year or quarterly for £24) providing they meet the criteria of having a vehicle registered at the address within the CPZ.
Some estates have their own permit parking schemes managed by Lewisham Homes. To apply for an estate permit, residents must take their vehicle registration document, current MOT, current vehicle insurance, proof of residency and personal ID to their local housing office, (original documents are photocopied at the office).
For more information obtaining a parking permit, please call our freephone number 0800 028 2 028 and hold the line to speak to our staff.
Garages
Council garages are for storing a private motor vehicle and/or personal belongings. Anyone can apply to rent a Council garage but we give priority to existing Council tenants.
You can complete the online form or you can contact us to request an application form by post. Once submitted, you will be put on a waiting list until a garage becomes available. Contact the Garage team on 020 8613 4820 / garages@lewishamhomes.org.uk
