Home Ownership Unit

The Home Ownership Unit is responsible for carrying out a wide variety of activities for Council tenants wishing to buy their home and for homeowners who pay service charges.

Our duties

• Administering the Right to Buy Scheme
• Pre-sale enquiry and re-mortgage packs
• Consent for alterations to your property
• Giving advice and information about the terms of your lease
• Consulting with leaseholders on major works

• Service charge queries
• Collecting payment of service charges
• Investigating service charge disputes
• Issuing invoices to leaseholders for major works charges
• Collecting payment of major works charges
• Providing account statements
• Taking and enforcing legal action

• Calculation of estimated service charges
• Calculation of actual service charges
• Maintenance of the service charge system
