Lewisham Council run a self-help scheme which assists tenants to find another tenant who would like to swap homes with them. Any tenant of the Council, a Housing Association or a Housing Co-operative can apply, though you must get the approval of Lewisham Homes before you move.
If you were to become a Housing Co-operative tenant, you would be expected to attend regular meetings and help make decisions on rents, repairs and other management issues. The Council has a nominations agreement with a number of Housing Co-operatives in the borough. Anyone on the housing list can apply, by indicating on the housing application form.
