Internal decorations for elderly or vulnerable tenants

Although tenants are responsible for carrying out their own redecorations to their homes, we have introduced a scheme to assist elderly or vulnerable tenants who can’t manage to carry this out due to their age or disability.

Evelyn Estate surgeries

Surgeries at Evelyn Estate have been withdrawn as a result of an increasing decline in the number of residents attending. Lewisham Homes Tenancy and Income officers will now be attending monthly coffee mornings run by Building Healthier Communities and offering the chance for residents to discuss any tenancy issues. These meetings are held on the first Friday of each month 10am-12pm at the Barnes Wallis Community Centre, 74 Wild Goose Drive.

In order to unlock funding to deliver Decent Homes works, Lewisham Homes must meet a range of targets to prove we can deliver a good service to our residents. To ensure we meet this goal Lewisham Homes has commissioned a mock inspection in November 2008 to track our progress. The feedback from this will shape our business plan as we count down to the real inspection in 2009/10.

New gas service contracts

Lewisham Homes has appointed two new contractors to service the gas pipes and appliances in your home. From 1 October, all gas servicing and repairs will be carried out by: T Brown Group in the South of the Borough and Quality Heating Services in the North of the Borough.

Changing Times: The future of race equality in housing conference

Lewisham Tenants Fund are offering to pay for two tenants to attend the Changing Times: The future of race equality in housing conference, and also to fund ten people to attend a Tenant Participatory Advisory Service (TPAS) training courses.
