Your rent is calculated weekly and is due every Monday. Your rent must be paid in advance.
You will receive a rent account statement every three months. The statement will show your weekly rent, the amount paid to the Council and your balance.
Direct Debit takes rent out of your bank account automatically. If the amount changes the Direct Debit is updated and you are notified beforehand.
Direct Debit is flexible and can be paid weekly or monthly and saves you a trip to the bank or Council.
To apply, simply download the Direct Debit form and return it to us.
For more information, or to sent up a Drect Debit over the phone, call us on 020 8314 9311.
You can make a payment online using a debit or credit card.
To make a payment, visit Lewisham Council's secure 24 hour online payments page.
Call the Council's 24-hour hotline on 020 8690 8707.
Make sure you have your rent account number and debit card ready.
Alternatively, you can contact your Income Officer who can also take payments by debit card.
They will automatically transfer your rent payment to the Council.
You only have to change your standing order if your rent changes.
If you would like to set up a standing order, please download and complete a standing order form. Alternatively, you may like to ask your bank to set it up. If so you will need to have the Council's bank details and your rent account number. The Council's bank details are:
Bank: Co-operative Bank PLC
Sortcode: 08-90-29
Account number: 61073843
To pay by cash or cheque, you will need to apply for a rent payment card. Contact your area office to obtain one. You can use your rent payment cards at post offices, local stores and garages where you see the PayPoint sign, or at Lewisham Town Hall.
