Acceptable Behaviour Contract
A written agreement between an antisocial behaviour offender and local agencies, like the police.
Antisocial behaviour order (ASBO)
An order against a person who has been shown to behave antisocially, that places certain restrictions on their behaviour. Breaking an ASBO can result in imprisonment.

Injunction
A court ruling that orders someone to do something/stop doing something.

Mediation
A negotiation between two parties carried out by a neutral person, with the aim of coming to a peaceful resolution.

Penalty notice
A punishment, usually a fine, issued by the council.
Possession proceedings
Court action taken by a landlord (such as the council) to take possession of a property and evict the tenant before the end of the Tenancy Agreement.

Restorative justice
A process where the victim is involved in dealing with a conflict/offender.

Tenancy demotion
When a tenancy has its status as ‘Secure’ removed for a period as a result of antisocial behaviour.
