What to do if stuck in a lift

There is a new procedure for rescuing people trapped in lifts on Lewisham estates.

If you cannot get out of a lift you should not call 999, instead an alarm has been fitted inside the lifts which can be activated to alert a rescue service. There are signs in place with instructions about this. This is in response to a change in policy from London Fire Brigade.
