Council garages are for storing a private motor vehicle. There is a large demand for garages within the Borough and a waiting list for most areas.
The majority of garages are charged at £12.28 a week. Lewisham Homes’ residents benefit from an exemption of tax with a reduced weekly charge of £10.24 a week. Blue badge holders are able to rent garages at half the standard rate.
Who is eligible?
Anyone can apply to rent a Council garage but we give priority to existing Lewisham Homes’ residents. You will not be offered a garage if you have any housing related debts.
How do I apply?
You can complete the online form or you can contact us to request an application form by post. Once submitted, you will be put on a waiting list until a garage becomes available.
Terminating your garage license
We require one week's advance notice in writing if you wish to give up your garage.
