Occupancy checks
We carry out regular occupancy checks to make sure the right people are living in our properties and to reduce tenancy fraud.
People who illegally sublet properties or who are renting illegally are denying homes to people in genuine need, and we will take action against these people.
In addition the check will also include a routine inspection of the home, to ensure there are no disrepair issues or adaptations that may be required. We also request identification of all those living in the home or as part of the house hold. There is a range of identification that we ask for, such as, passport, driving licence, utility bills, bank statement, birth certificates, work ID with photo, Freedom pass and any other form of I.D as requested. Following a successful check our records will show that the right occupant/s are living in the property.
During occupancy checks we also make sure that any vulnerable tenants are getting any help and support that they need.
