As part of our commitment to help our residents gain the skills they need to access employment, we’re working in partnership with Dynamic Client Solutions (DCS) to offer training opportunities to gain a range of NCFE Level 2 Qualifications.
We have spaces available on the following courses:
Event Planning – 5 spaces
Business Admin – 7 spaces
Data Protection – 3 spaces
Digital Promotion for Business – 3 spaces

If you attended the assessment day on 12th September you do not need to attend this one.
We will hold another assessment day for these courses this Thursday:
Thursday 19 September – Old Town Hall, Catford, SE6 4RU.
12 – 12.45: Event Planning
12.45 – 1.30: Business Admin
1.30-2.15: Data protection
2.15 – 3pm: Digital promotion for business
You must be:
- a Lewisham Homes resident;
- at least 19 years old; and
- unemployed or earning less than £15,736.50 per year
If you do not fit the eligibility criteria you will not be able to attend the course.
To register for the assessment day please email with your full name, address and choice of course(s). Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
You will need to bring the following:
ID: (passport or driving license)
If you have been living in the UK less than three years then bring proof you have right to remain in the UK
If you are unemployed then bring proof you are claiming benefits OR If you are earning under £15,736.50 per year bring proof of this.
The tutor, Carlene will talk you through the outline of the course and you will then complete a simple maths and English test to ensure that you can partake in the course. If you have completed this test recently with Carlene please let me know as soon as possible as you may not need to attend the assessment day.

Certificate in Principles of Business Administration (VRQ)
Dates: 23rd & 30th September 7th & 14th October (10am – 3pm)
This programme is ideal for people working or looking to work in Business Administration. It provides the opportunity to gain a formal qualification looking at the principles behind business administration. The programme is delivered in a blended learning format with workshops and workbook to complete. This qualification provides learners with the knowledge that is required to work in a range of environments in a business administration role. Learners will know how to carry out administrative tasks such as managing information and supporting events and will be able to apply their knowledge in a variety of industries and job roles.
Certificate in Event Planning (QCF)
Dates: 25th September, 2nd, 9th & 16th October (10am – 3pm)
Learners will find out about planning events for different sectors and look at the duties of the Event Planner/Coordinator. Learners will produce event and contingency plans and learn about security and health and safety requirements at planned events. They will learn how to evaluate events, explore evaluation tools and will produce evaluation plans. Learners will explore initial market research, investigate marketing methods and resources, and produce marketing plans for events as well as considering management requirements and necessary personnel for events. The importance of communication, equality of opportunity and customer service in event planning are major themes that are covered during the course.
Certificate in Data Protection
Dates: 21st & 28th October, 4th & 11th November (10am – 3pm)
Data protection compliance is an essential legal requirement for all organisations. Since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in May 2018, it is more vital than ever that everyone who works with personal data understands the laws and acts in compliance, as the penalties can be severe. You will learn about current data legislation and how it is applied, organisational procedures concerning data, possible threats to ICT systems and data, and how to protect against the, and the consequence of not protecting data, and the impact of possible breaches.

Certificate in Digital Promotion for Business
Dates: 24th & 31st October, 7th & 14th November (10am – 3pm) These dates may be subject to change. We will keep anyone interested in this course updated.
This programme aims to introduce learners to concepts of digital promotion that can be used in a business setting. It is ideal for business start ups and existing SMEs. The qualification will help learners to develop your understanding of how to promote a business in a digital age. It is delivered in a blended learning format using SMART phones, Laptops and Tablets. Learners will produce a portfolio illustrating their digital skills. This would be useful if you want to improve your own digital promotion in a real business situation, or as a foundation for further learning in subjects such as:
