The Gardeners Network held its second successful meeting earlier this year. In January, residents braved the cold to meet up in a cosy café in Telegraph Hill to discuss their passion for gardening. Sam Butcher took us on a tour though the area, explaining the history of Telegraph Hill Park, the housing and pointing out the trees she had planted and watered herself that now lined the streets. We arrived at Jerningham Court and were shown the area they hoped to develop and explained the plans that had been drawn up by a landscape gardener who another resident from the Network had put them in touch with.
It was thoroughly enjoyable afternoon where ideas and advice were shared and friendships formed.
Now that Spring is in the air and the daffodils are in bloom we will be holding another Gardeners Network meeting. We will be meeting at the Hill Station Café (32 Kitto Rd, London SE14 5TW) at 2pm on Saturday 6th April. We will then walk to Seldon House to visit the beautiful community garden created by a local resident.
