
Congratulations to our residents who were recognised for the positive impact they have in their local communities at our annual Garden Party on Saturday 21 July.
Steven McKlow, a block representative for Forest Estate in Forest Hill won Resident of the Year for working tirelessly for the benefit of his neighbours on a range of issues. He has also successfully completed the TPAS ‘Understanding scrutiny in the housing service’ course.
Outstanding Personal Achievement went to Kathleen Tanoh, from Forest Hill. After completing the healthy eating course through Lewisham Homes over a year ago she has developed her own business to offer healthy eating sessions to young people across Lewisham.
The outdoor bike-powered film screening of ‘Sing’, organised by Moira Kerrane and Laurentina Risch, as part of New Cross and Deptford Film Festival was awarded Inspirational Community Project for bringing a memorable, large-scale event to the Pepys estate.
Moira Kerrane also picked up the prize for Creative Community Engagement on behalf of the 2000 Community Action Centre, for the range of free and low cost projects and opportunities it provides for local residents of all ages.

Geoff Mason, from Deptford, received the Good Neighbour award for working with Lewisham Homes to deliver a number of improvements on his estate and always going the extra mile to help his neighbours.
Their achievements were celebrated in a special awards ceremony with awards presented by Councillor Paul Bell, Councillor Aisling Gallagher, Councillor Mark Ingleby, Councillor Caroline Kanu and Lewisham Homes Board members Ainsley Forbes (Chair) and Kevin Stearns.
Over 500 residents enjoyed a sunny afternoon of live music and entertainment at the Albany, with the chance to chat to Lewisham Homes teams about everything from Universal Credit and getting online to fly-tipping and antisocial behaviour.
London Fire Brigade also attended to offer fire safety advice and children had the chance to explore a real fire engine.
