If you’re a resident who is looking for valuable experience as a volunteer in a role that will help us deliver improved services, get involved by joining our Service and Performance Committee.
Lewisham Homes is an enterprising, not-for-profit organisation set up to improve housing in the borough. As well as managing 19,000 homes on behalf of Lewisham Council, we operate our own maintenance company, build new homes and find valuable ways to invest in the local community.
We take advantage of new technology, developing innovative services and placing residents at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to be 100% focused on Lewisham and aim to make a real difference to the lives of the residents and communities living and working in our borough.
In line with our values, Lewisham Homes want residents to be involved at every level, actively participating in decision-making and shaping the services we deliver. We recognise we have a long-term relationship with the majority of our residents, one we strive to build through mutual trust and respect.
Help shape and improve our services
Lewisham Homes’ Board has established a Service and Performance Committee, which includes Board Members and Involved Residents. This committee will support the Board by providing Lewisham Homes residents’ input on matters such as performance and service delivery. It will oversee the effectiveness of the Community Engagement Framework and we hope participation in the committee will also provide a development opportunity for residents who would like to join the Board in the future.
We are looking for residents with good interpersonal skills who can work well in a team and challenge the way we do things. Your experience as well as the knowledge and skills you will bring will help us understand, monitor and scrutinise our performance and keep us focused on the residents’ perspective. Your voice will influence all aspects of our service delivery. As well as influencing the way Lewisham Homes is led, your involvement will enable you to develop personally and to benefit your career.
You should expect to attend one evening meeting quarterly (usually a Thursday from 6-8pm) and training sessions, as and when required. Meetings are normally held at our office in Catford.
If you have a real enthusiasm for our mission and social purpose, with an emphasis and passion on customer care and a determination to make a meaningful commitment to Lewisham Homes, join us as an Involved Resident member of our Service and Performance Committee.
