Keith Walton, one of our unsung heroes, was awarded Tenant Champion at this year’s 24housing awards.
Keith was up against 6 other shortlisted contenders to win the prestigious honour.
As Chair of Evelyn Tenant and Residents Association, Keith is a brilliant example of someone who quietly does a huge amount to lead, inspire and crusade for his community.
He told us:
‘I care for people in our ward. Things that might seem small, like repairing some railings, form part of a whole spectrum of things for people who live here. I’m just the guy that says ‘Come on, let’s get this sorted!’’
Keith is a member of our Resident Scrutiny Committee and a director of Lewisham Tenants Fund. He works with the Police as part of his local Safer Neighbourhood team because of concerns with violence in his area.
We are proud and very fortunate to have Keith working with us on behalf of his community. He is a unique and inspiring person who dedicates much of his personal time to supporting those who need an extra hand.
