Lewisham Homes has launched a free telephone counselling service for residents suffering anxiety due to Covid-19 and the lockdown. The service is being funded as a social value initiative by contractor Faithorn Farrell Timms (FFT), which provides condition surveys on housing stock managed by Lewisham Homes.
FFT had previously agreed to sponsor a mindfulness program for Evelyn Estate residents, to include counselling, gardening and a resilience program for young people. This has been delayed due to the current circumstances surrounding the pandemic. However, it became clear that the counselling element of the programme could be brought forward and adapted to telephone support.
A qualified counsellor, who is also a Lewisham Homes resident, will be taking 20-30min appointments over the phone, primarily on referral from our safeguarding team. The sessions will be fully confidential and no information will be shared with Lewisham Homes. The first appointments are on Tuesday 28 April.
