Last month as part of Black History Month, we supported the Show Racism the Red Card charity with two events: a talk from Red Card ambassador Kevin George, and a sponsored ‘Wear Red Day’ where we wore the organisation’s colour and donated money to the charity.
We can now reveal that the efforts of staff have raised £128.96 for Show Racism the Red Card, to spend on their advocacy work around the country. The charity runs educational workshops and training sessions, and provides a host of resources in order to tackle racism in society. Established in January 1996, the organisation utilises the high-profile status of football and football players to publicise its message. Across Britain, Show Racism the Red Card delivers training to more than 50,000 individuals per year.
