Lewisham Homes signs up to Unison’s End Violence at Work Charter

Lewisham Homes has signed Unison’s End Violence at Work Charter reinforcing the business’s commitment to be vigilant about protecting their staff at work.

The charter focuses on addressing violence towards staff working within the community, voluntary, and housing sectors. It lists precautionary safety standards which an organisation must meet in order to qualify.

Unison National Officer Gavin Edwards attended Lewisham Homes’ offices today (1 November) to present the certificate to Margaret Dodwell, CEO, and Lewisham Homes Union representatives.

Gavin Edwards, Unison National Officer, said: “Lewisham Homes has met all the criteria to sign up to the End Violence at Work Charter as they continue to work towards improving the safety of their staff. There is still a long way to go as many organisations have not yet joined the charter and Lewisham Homes is helping to lead by example”.

Margaret Dodwell commented: “We are happy with the feedback we have received from Unison. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff is a top priority.”
