Lewisham UCAS Support is a network of experienced teachers and other professionals with relevant experience of the university application process. They will provide advice and support to Year 12 & 13 Lewisham Homes residents, as they plan their next steps in their chosen career and subject area.
Lewisham Homes is pleased to be working on delivering this project in partnership with local volunteer and teacher, Jack Lavery.
Who can access this support?
Any Lewisham Homes resident currently in Year 12 or 13 who is starting to think about the university application process.

- Monday 13 July – Choosing the right course at the right university (6.30-8pm)
With so many universities and courses to pick from, the choice can feel a bit overwhelming. Join this Zoom call where experienced teachers and university admissions tutors will provide guidance on how to navigate this process. This session is aimed at Year 12 & 13 students and any recent school leavers. Parents are also welcome to attend.

- Monday 20 July – Selling yourself to universities and how to write a great personal statement (6.30-8pm)
In this session, we will discuss strategies to make yourself a great university candidate. We will also outline what we think makes a fantastic personal statement. This session will be led by experienced teachers and university admissions tutors. Year 12 & 13 students and any recent school leavers are welcome to attend.

- Ongoing: One-on-one support from a subject specialist
Please contact lewishamUCAS@gmail.com to arrange support from a subject specialist (subject to availability). For example, if you are interested in studying a business related university course, we will aim to connect you with an experienced business teacher or university admissions tutor. A Zoom meeting will be organised (one-on-one or small group) to discuss:
- Details of academic enrichment activities you could engage with to support your application, e.g. appropriate reading, online lectures etc.
- Advice on what makes a great UCAS personal statement in your chosen field.
- Advice on choosing the right course in your chosen field.
