The National Federation of Arms-Length Management Associations (NFA), of which Lewisham Homes is a member, is inviting submissions to its annual photography competition, with this year’s theme being “No Place Like Home”. We all understand what it means to feel ‘at home’; yet no two communities are alike, and what sets one place apart from another may well be the very thing that most makes us feel we belong. The 2020 competition asks NFA members and their residents to capture what’s unique about their streets, neighbourhoods and communities.
This is where you, our residents, come in. We’re looking for high quality images that tell a strong, positive story about our homes and residents, and challenge the stereotype that living in social housing defines the kind of person we are, what our neighbourhood looks like, the kind of job we have or what we do in our spare time.
Images submitted to the competition often get widespread recognition. Our entry last year made the final shortlist, and was used at the House of Commons as part of the NFA’s Addison Act 100 Years of Council Housing celebrations this summer, as well as by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) – as well as on the cover of our annual report.
The national deadline for the competition is in March, so please send all entries to our Communications team by Friday 28 February 2020. We can also provide answers to any questions you may have about the competition.
