Final year Housing students at London Metropolitan University (LMU) were treated to a talk on resident participation from our Senior Community Engagement Officer, Tosin Adewumi, at the end of last month.
Tosin outlined to the students how our Community Relations team engages with residents and the range of activities they carry out. She was also able to explain how she got into her career in housing and offer career advice to those interested. The students also had the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
Tosin said: ‘It was great for me to talk about a topic I am passionate about and the work our team does at Lewisham Homes especially at the University where I graduated some years ago.’
Patrick Mulrenan, Senior Lecturer at LMU, said ‘the session was really well-received and the students gave very positive feedback.’
The talk followed on from our collaboration with LMU on our two housing courses for residents, Introduction to Local Housing and Improving Housing Services. Click the links to find out how you can get involved. For more on the Community Relations team, email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
