Last week, our fire safety team met with the tenants’ and residents’ association (TRA) at the Pepys estate to discuss fire safety, while delivering an essential training session
Continuing our collaboration with TRA’s, our fire risk manager Charles Brown and fire safety advisor Bruno Mazzoni delivered the training session. Safety remains our top priority, and we are committed to fire safety in our buildings.
The two-hour session was on the theme of general fire safety and covered:
- Fire action notices and the “stay put” policy
- Smoke detection fitting and testing
- Fire doors
- Fire compartmentation
- Means of escape from flats and common areas
The TRA members were able to engage in a Q&A session which followed the training, where we were able to answer their questions and address concerns. We also had some good feedback on the night.
A resident said: “I found it really informative to be reminded of the simple measures we can all take to keep us, our family and neighbours safe.”
Bruno delivered a fire safety presentation to the TRA, and as a result of the presentation we will be responding with feedback on issues and improvements that the TRA would like Lewisham Homes to address, which were mainly around the current refurbishment of the building.
