One of our contractors doing fire safety works on the Pepys estate has responded to Covid concerns by creating a virtual before-and-after survey of works on an empty flat, alongside a timelapse video of a new front entrance door being fitted.
Foster Property Maintenance are currently working on approximately 200 units on the estate alongside Engie, Axis and Mulalley. The works are related to compartmentation, which is about making sure that fire can’t spread between flats or from communal areas to flats. Most of the properties they will be working on are occupied, but since a vacant flat came up in Argosy House, this was completed first as an example. Under ordinary circumstances, residents would be able to view the completed flat to better understand what works need doing and what standard of finish they can expect at the end of the process.
The virtual survey, along with the door replacement video, goes a long way towards reassuring residents that all works can be carried out safely and to a high standard. (Note the carpets and flooring have not yet been fitted in the completed survey.)
