Pet Policy

[responsivevoice_button]

We’re proudly a pet friendly landlord and we recognise the benefits that keeping pets can bring to residents, including companionship, and boosting mental and physical health. Because of this we’ve recently updated our pet policy, so if you’re already a pet owner, or you’re an animal lover considering getting a new pet, here’s what you need to know.

You can keep the following animals without seeking permission from us: dogs (excluding any dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act), cats, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and caged birds. If you wish to keep any other type of animal, reptile or bird you must get written permission from our Housing Management team.

With pet ownership comes great responsibility and you should look after your animals and ensure they don’t cause a nuisance within your property or in communal areas. Permission to keep a pet will be withdrawn if it causes a nuisance or health hazard and we will report any animal cruelty or neglect to the RSPCA.

Battersea pet friendly properties

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is highlighting the number of tenants giving up their pets because landlords don’t allow them in their properties. As a landlord that does allow pets, we’ll be working with Battersea to help Lewisham become a pet friendly borough.
