Your Tenancy Agreement is a legal contract between you and Lewisham Council. You will find a full list of your tenancy conditions and responsibilities. You can see a copy here.
What am I responsible for?
- Paying your rent on time every week
- Make sure you, your family or your visitors don’t give your neighbours cause for complaint.
- Report any repair for which Lewisham Homes is responsible;
- Take reasonable steps to prevent any damage to the property.
We also offer our tenants:

You can get 20% discount on all decorating essentials from Crown Decorating Centre in New Cross. Exclusive offer for our residents, please present this voucher to the store
Looking after your property
Your Tenancy Agreement states that you will be recharged reasonable costs for any damage that you have caused at the end your tenancy. This includes clearing dumped items from communal areas or changing locks because we’ve had to force entry into your property. There is also an administrative fee of 15% and any legal bills associated.
We also expect you to leave your property clear of rubbish when ending a tenancy.
If you are going to be away from your home for more than 28 days you will need to inform your Tenancy Officer and give the anticipated date you will return.
If you are away for more than 28 days without informing us, we will assume you have abandoned the property and steps will be taken to regain possession and relet the premises.
